How I Vet Before I Recommend: The Filter Behind Every Smart Find
Anyone can list products. This is the five-gate filter every recommendation on this site passes first — including the money-back test.

Recommendation content has a trust problem, and it earned it. Most "best of" lists are ranked by commission rate, written by people who never touched the products. So before anything appears in Smart Finds, here's the filter it survived.
Gate one: I paid for it
Real money, real account, real use case — not a free review copy with a deadline. Products behave differently when the vendor doesn't know you're watching.
Gate two: It survived 30 days
Everything is impressive during the demo week. The verdict comes at day 30: is it still in the workflow, or did it quietly become a tab that never gets opened? Only still-in-use survives.
Gate three: The math works at full price

Grab the free Side Hustle Launch Guide
A 30-day plan to get a second income stream live without quitting anything.
Launch discounts and first-year pricing are marketing, not economics. The question is whether the tool justifies its renewal price — because that's the price you'll actually live with.
Gate four: Support got tested
One real support ticket, minimum, before any recommendation. How a company behaves when something breaks tells you more than the feature page ever will.
Gate five: The refund policy is real
Where possible, I've verified the exit door works — because recommending something means recommending the whole experience, including leaving.
When something is an affiliate relationship, it's disclosed plainly. But the commission never buys the placement — the filter isn't for sale, because the filter is the entire value of this category.
